Human Remains Unearthed in Polish Village as Over 30 Bodies Are Found
Poinews.com – A chilling discovery in the village of Lutoryż, close to Rzeszów, has ignited widespread concern. During recent groundwork on a plot of land previously owned by a pathologist, human foetal remains and medical waste were uncovered. The District Prosecutor’s Office in Rzeszów was informed of the find on June 10, 2026, prompting an official statement from Krzysztof Ciechanowski, the spokesperson for the Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
“Significant quantities of medical waste, primarily paraffin blocks and microscope slides, were discovered on the property. Among the items identified were human foetuses and other remains suspected to be early-stage foetal tissue or fragments,” he said.
Investigation Continues as Final Counts Remain Uncertain
Early reports indicated around a dozen foetuses had been found, but media updates later suggested investigators had secured approximately 30 sets of remains. Officials noted that specialist analysis is still required to confirm the total number and determine the exact nature of the materials. Work on the site will continue through the following week, though no additional details will be released at this time.
Legal Proceedings and Detention of Property Owner
Authorities are pursuing charges of corpse desecration and illegal hazardous waste storage. These offenses could lead to penalties of up to two years or twelve years in prison. The current property owners acquired the land from a pathologist, a detail that has become central to the case. On Thursday, prosecutors ordered the detention of 57-year-old Magdalena H., who was taken into custody in Zamość.
According to media sources, Magdalena H. claimed the remains were part of medical materials used for pathological studies. Unconfirmed reports also hinted that some of the items might have been removed from a hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. These allegations are now under scrutiny. Despite being detained, her questioning was postponed due to health issues. Radio Rzeszów reported she required medical attention during the procedures and was subsequently hospitalized.
