Ukrainian Forces Launch Coordinated Assaults on Central Russia’s Logistics Networks

The attacks are part of a broader strategy to disrupt Russian infrastructure, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who highlighted the strikes in a social media post. He stated that the facilities were used to transport components for unmanned aerial vehicles and guidance systems, emphasizing their role in supporting Russia’s military logistics.
Targeting Retail and Energy Infrastructure
Two warehouses linked to the Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries were among the targets, according to Tatyana Kim, the company’s founder. Regional authorities noted significant casualties, with Tambov’s head of administration, Yevgeny Pervyshov, reporting seven fatalities and 25 injuries during the night shift. A separate drone strike on a Wildberries site in Elektrostal, near Moscow, left one person dead and 37 others wounded, per government sources.
“The aggressor relied on these hubs to distribute sanctioned parts for drone manufacturing and navigation systems,” Zelenskyy wrote, underscoring the strategic intent behind the strikes.
Drone Defense and Counterattacks
Earlier on Saturday, Moscow’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, disclosed that 370 drones were directed toward the Moscow region. His statement noted that most were neutralized by air defenses, with 64 confirmed destroyed. Euronews could not independently confirm these figures. Meanwhile, Russia has been retaliating by attacking Ukrainian supply depots, including those managed by Nova Poshta, a private courier service. The Russian Defense Ministry claims these facilities are used to store and assemble drones.
In June, Nova Poshta’s CEO, Yevhen Tafiichuk, revealed that a Russian missile strike had destroyed the company’s “largest and most innovative terminal.” The Ukrainian air force reported that Russia launched 90 drones and seven missiles at the country overnight, with one missile and 69 drones intercepted by defenses. A drone attack in Kherson on Saturday morning injured at least nine individuals, as confirmed by local military officials.
