The victims, described as a family, have not yet been officially identified, though media reports suggest Ukrainian construction tycoon Vadym Yermolaiev was among those hurt. He had renounced his Ukrainian citizenship nearly a decade ago and was sanctioned by Ukraine in 2023 for his alleged ties to Russia. A woman and a child were also injured in the blast.
“The family appears to have been specifically targeted,” said the prosecutor general. “This is an attempted assassination, and French authorities are assisting with the inquiry.”
